500px for iPad Is a Gorgoeus Photo Browser and Slideshow Creator [Ipad Downloads]

iPad: 500px is a new iPad app that lets you browse some of the web's most interesting and attractive photos, and then use your iPad as a digital photo frame to display your favorites, the best from the 500px community, or your own photos, set to a soundtrack from your iTunes library.

If you're not a member of 500px, you can sign up for free. The community is full of photo fans and other people who just appreciate good photography, and you can add your own shots to your portfolio or just collect photos that you really like into a virtual gallery of great images. The new iPad app, when combined with the web service, gives you an easy and free way to use your iPad as a gorgeous photo frame when its not in use, rotate out those photos as often as you choose, and play music behind them while you work on something else. If you see photos you like, you can share them with friends on Twitter, Facebook, or Tumblr.

Linkify Plus Makes Text Links Clickable in Almost Any Browser [User Scripts]

Chrome/Firefox/Opera/Safari (Greasemonkey): If you're tired of plain text links that you have to copy and paste in your address bar, free Greasemonkey script Linkify Plus will turn all URLs and email addresses into clickable links.

There isn't much more to it than that—just install the extension, and you should find most HTTP, HTTPS, and mailto links become clickable. It requires JavaScript to be enabled on each site it works on, so if you disable it for certain sites, Linkify won't work. This shouldn't be a huge problem, but you can try the alternative Linkify ting if you'd rather not have the JavaScript caveat. Linkify ting doesn't work on mailto links, though. We've mentioned Linkify once before, but it no longer comes with Greasemonkey, so we thought it was worth providing a link to its replacement.

Linkify Plus is a free download, works in most modern browsers. Firefox users will need the Greasemonkey extension to use it, and Safari uses will need the NinjaKit extension.

Web/Android/iOS: T-Mobile's free VoIP app Bobsled debuted back in April as a way to make free calls via Facebook Chat, but now that Skype is offering that functionality, Bobsled has expanded to offer free calling to US, Canada, and Puerto Rico from a web browser.

Similar to other VoIP apps, all you need is an Internet connection to make calls to mobile or landline phones through your desktop browser, after installing the plugin. Facebook friend calling and voicemail pinning to your friends' walls are still features included.

It looks like the mobile apps, however, currently only support dialing your Facebook contacts, although you can make Bobsled to Bobsled calls with other Android or iOS users.

The service seems particularly useful if you're traveling and only have a Wi-Fi connection on your laptop (and also because Google Voice's free calling through Gmail may be free only until the end of 2011).
