Moby's Private Location Sharing App Released for AndroidAndroid/iOS/Blackberry: Private location sharing app Moby has been available for Blackberry and iOS for some time, but an Android version was released today.

Moby is a private system, so you only reveal your location to people you trust. It's a simple setup that's easy to turn on and off, and now that it's cross-platform, your friends and loved ones don't need to have the same type of phone for it to be usable. Unlike similar apps, Moby is billed more as a safety app than a social one, so many of the features are geared toward families.

Google Docs Updates Presentations With Real-Time Collaboration, New Themes, Transitions and MoreGoogle Docs has rolled out a new version of its presentations tool with over 50 new features, including, simultaneous editing, a series of new slide animations, themes, tables and more.

The simultaneous editing feature allows multiple users to edit presentations at the same time with each user's marks appearing in a different color. The update also allows better integration with drawings, flowcharts and tables while also adding a few aesthetic effects like better transitions and animations.

The new features are rolling out gradually, but you can enable a few of them right now by hitting up the Document setting button in Google Docs and checking the "Create new presentations using the latest version of the presentation editor" under the editing tab. Google Voice Begins Rolling Out MMS-to-Email Forwarding for Sprint Users [Updates]

By Whitson Gordon Oct 13, 2011 4:30 PM 10,480 38

Google Voice Begins Rolling Out MMS-to-Email Forwarding for Sprint UsersMMS support has long been at the top of our Google Voice wish list, and it looks like Google's finally rolling out a workaround for getting MMS messages sent to your Google Voice number. Here's what we know so far.

Google hasn't made any official announcements, but a number of users—at the Google support forums, at the unofficial Google Voice forums, and Patrick over at the Plan8 podcast—are reporting that Google Voice now sends you a notification for incoming MMS messages. You won't get the message itself, but if you have "SMS forwarding" turned on in Google Voice's settings, then you'll get the MMS forwarded in your email inbox. It isn't full MMS support, but it's a heck of a lot better than what we have now.

At the moment, it looks like it's only working for Sprint users, and that it's rolling out gradually. So, if you're on Sprint, turn on SMS forwarding and get one of your Sprint-using friends to send you an MMS. If it works, be sure to let us know in the comments!

Update: Some of you have mentioned you have it working on Virgin Mobile and T-Mobile, so it looks like it's rolling out to users on other carriers as well.

Minimalist Calendaring App Agenda Updates, Adds Quick Event Editing and New iPad Version [Updates]

By Alan Henry Oct 13, 2011 6:00 AM 8,301 10

Minimalist Calendaring App Agenda Updates, Adds Quick Event Editing and New iPad Version iOS: Agenda is a minimalist, elegant calendaring application that we've highlighted before. The developer recently updated the application to include an iPad version, and has improved the iPhone version to make editing calendar appointments easier.

The app retains its clean layout, but the iPhone version now allows you to edit an event by tapping it in event view, and on the iPad there's now a persistent "Edit" button available across multiple parts of the application. The new iPad version looks and operates like its iPhone cousin, and offers a single-glance view of all of your appointments and events for the upcoming day, week, or month, if you choose. The app also makes it easy to switch views with a single tap.

Agenda is available in the iTunes App Store now for $0.99, and because it's universal, you can buy it once and use it on the iPhone and the iPad.

Sparrow, the Great Mac Gmail and IMAP Client, Updates to Rid the World of Attachments [Updates]

Sparrow, the Great Mac Gmail and IMAP Client, Updates to Rid the World of AttachmentsIn addition to adding some nice speed and interface enhancements (like swiping up to check for mail), our favorite Mac Gmail client Sparrow (which works great with IMAP, too!) has decided to take a stand against email attachments.

Now you can log in with your CloudApp account (or sign up for a free one) and use that service for attachments instead. Once enabled, when you drag a file onto the main area of an email message it will automatically upload to CloudApp and place a link in the message. A sound will play when the upload is complete, but you can turn that off. If you feel like attaching a file the traditional way you still can by simply dragging it to the bottom of the message rather than into the body. This way you can use the method you prefer when sending files. Pretty neat!

Note: When updating to version 1.4, it'll take a minute to migrate your old mailboxes. If you have many it could take a bit longer. It's not a huge wait, but you may not want to run the update when you're in a hurry.
