Amazon's new version of the Kindle Touch comes with a new operating system, but programmer Yifan Lu has already managed to jailbreak the device with an incredibly easy process that requires nothing more than playing a MP3 file.
The process to jailbreak is as simple as it gets. You need to download a ZIP file from Lu's site and then copy the MP3 inside to your Kindle. Then you need to play the file on your Kindle to jailbreak it.
This first step is just a gateway for apps and there aren't any mods available for the Kindle Touch yet, but if you plan on jailbreaking in the future, it might be a good idea to do this now in case it's patched later on. You can find the full guide on Yifan Lu's website below.
